The main reason to buy a used Audi in Quebec comes down to one word: quattro. Audi's all-wheel drive is one of the most respected in the industry, and it changes everything on Laurentian roads in the middle of January. The system continuously distributes torque between the axles (and, on the sport versions, between the wheels), which gives reassuring grip on the packed snow of chemin d'Oka as well as on the black ice of Highway 640.
For a buyer in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, Mirabel or Saint-Eustache who faces snowy hills and unplowed parking lots all winter, a Q5 or an A4 quattro fitted with good winter tires with the mountain/snowflake symbol (mandatory from December 1 to March 15) offers peace of mind that is hard to beat. A word of caution, though: quattro does not replace winter tires. It is the combination of the two that makes the difference north of Montreal.
In Quebec, certain Audis come up constantly in used-car searches. Here are the models we target most often for our customers in the region:
A well-maintained Audi is a pleasure to drive, but let's be honest: maintaining a premium German brand costs more than maintaining a Honda or a Toyota. That is why we insist on one point at BonAuto: the maintenance history and the CARFAX report matter even more on an Audi than on a mainstream car.
A few things to watch depending on the generation: oil consumption on some older 2.0 TFSI engines, timing chain components, air suspension on the Q7/Q8 (if equipped) and electronics (MMI, sensors). Nothing insurmountable when the car has been properly looked after, hence the importance of a serious inspection and a clean maintenance record. For models with complex technology, an extended warranty is often a good reflex.
Also good to know: by buying from a dealer like BonAuto rather than from a private seller, you benefit from the legal warranty of the Consumer Protection Act (categories A to D depending on the age and mileage of the vehicle). That is protection a sale between individuals does not offer.
Every Audi goes through a complete mechanical inspection tailored to the brand, with particular attention to the points that make the reputation (good or bad) of German cars:
We do not sell an Audi we would not buy ourselves. If a car has a doubtful past or neglected maintenance, it does not make it to our lot in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac.
A used Audi is still a major purchase, and the right financing makes all the difference to the monthly payment. We work with several institutions to build a file that fits your situation, and we help all credit profiles, including more delicate situations. See our options for bad credit financing.
Before you come in, estimate your payment with our payment calculator, then browse the inventory to see the Audis available. Remember that when you buy from a dealership, the value of your trade-in is deducted from the taxable amount (14.975% taxes in Quebec), a concrete advantage that a sale between individuals does not offer.
