GMC: the premium version of GM pickups and SUVs
GMC shares the same mechanical base as Chevrolet (both are owned by General Motors), but positions its models higher up the range: full leather trim, Denali technology, superior standard equipment and a slightly higher price.
For a used-car buyer, that means a Sierra 1500 Denali shares the engine, chassis and transmission of a Silverado High Country, but with a more luxurious interior. On the resale market, the GMC generally sells for $1,000 to $3,000 more than an equivalent Chevrolet, a sign that the brand premium holds.
